James and Niru were lucky for many reasons on November 10th, 2012! Not only were they marrying one another but somehow Hurricane Sandy did not affect the hotel that was hosting their beautiful wedding day in Park Ridge, New Jersey. Just over three hundred friends and family gathered in Park Ridge for their traditional Indian wedding. It was filled with color, love, flowers, and so much fun energy! James rode in on a white horse, also known as the Baraat. Drumming and dancing by his friends and family led him and the horse to the hotel entrance. He arrived first to the ceremony site, and Niru was then walked down the aisle with her bridesmaids, parents, and family members surrounding her. The ceremony was beautiful and started with a curtain between them at the beginning and was removed and followed by a traditional Hindu ceremony. The pouring of rice and flower petals over their heads is a symbol of happiness and prosperity, and definitely made a few smiles to appear during. After their ceremony we snuck outside to do some portraits with their bridal party, and a few of Niru and James in their traditional wedding wear. They then went off to change into their evening wardrobe. James looked sharp in a black suit and Niru was in a gorgeous pink and green ghaghra choli, and even had her hair freshened up. Dancing, cake, toasts, and awesome music by DJ Raj filled the evening. Congratulations you two! I loved capturing your beautiful wedding day!
