Claire & April: Vermont Barn Wedding

By Anne | July 31, 2012

Claire & April had an incredibly beautiful wedding on July 1st, 2012.  Early on, these two gals informed me that April was the “bride” and Claire was the “broom” (in their words, butch+groom=Broom)!  As you can tell right away, these two have an awesome sense of humor, an incredible zest for life, and a beautiful love for one another.  Their wedding was at the West Monitor Barn in Richmond, Vermont.  The barn is gorgeous, and all proceeds from renting the barn “go towards funding Vermont Youth Conservation Corps (VYCC) programs, which employ over 300 young people to work on high-priority conservation and education projects across the state of Vermont each year.”  How cool is that?  You can rent a place that feeds back into the Vermont youth!  Claire and April said their “I do’s” outside of the barn where they were surrounded by Vermont’s Green Mountains.  April’s father helped put together the birch chuppah, a dear friend of theirs was the Justice of the Peace, a few nice readings were read during the ceremony by friends, and Claire aced the “breaking of the glass”!  Then they were off to do portraits.  This crew was so hilarious, it was hard to get them to stop goofing around!  Their bridal party had so much fun energy, and then Claire and April were constantly making each other laugh during their portraits.  The evening was filled with tear jerking toasts, yummy food, and killer music by DJ Adamm (aka not your typical DJ! love it!).  Thank you Claire and April, I loved capturing your wedding and I am so happy for you two!
