Portland Company Complex Wedding: Megan & Tyler
On June 27th, 2015, Megan and Tyler were married on the Eastern Promenade at Fish Point in Portland, Maine. What makes this wedding so unique was Megan and Tyler’s vision on all the moving parts of the day. There were two cocktail hours, a train to take guests to the ceremony location, an incredibly inspiring reception location and the best spot for a first look I’ve encountered thus far. The entire wedding as a whole really utilizes everything that makes Portland, Maine so special. While Tyler was lacing his pink sneakers at an undisclosed location, I met Megan at the Portland Regency Hotel in downtown Portland as the finishing touches of her make-up were wrapping up. Her Nicole Miller dress was a stunner as she slipped into it with her mom and sister’s help. I love how much joy the bright and colorful bouquet brought her as she first held it with her dress on. There is a corner tucked away in downtown Portland that has been spray painted on an entire wall. This is where Megan envisioned the first look location to be held. She had no idea that Tyler was going to be wearing his pink sneakers with his suit. It was all coincidence that the pink ribbon on the bouquet matched his sneakers that matched the Portland graffiti wall. After a few portraits downtown we drove to the Portland Company Complex, where the reception was held. What a venue! Rooms upon rooms all left in their original industrial form with incredible lighting pouring through the windows. We spent some time walking around the interior and exterior of the Complex, utilizing all the best spots for portraits. Guests started to arrive at the Portland Company Complex and each grabbed a drink before they stepped on the train. Clyde made sure each guest was accounted for a blew the final whistle. Off we all went down the tracks to Fish Point on the Eastern Promenade overlooking the sailboats in the harbor. Guests gathered informally for the ceremony and Megan and her dad were the last to disembark from the train. After the ceremony, some guests went for a quick train ride as other lingered on the Promenade. All aboard as we all rode back to the Portland Company Complex. Inside, a cocktail hour was held inside “the industrial room” with a beautiful lighting display. After, guests moved to the “Room with a View” for the dinner portion of the evening. A gourmet menu, served family style, was a great was to introduce why Portland has become so well known for its food. Toasts were followed by dancing and the night of celebration was underway. I’ll always remember this wedding and I was so inspired to be a part of it. Megan and Tyler, thank you so much for asked Brian and I to capture it. Enjoy these images! Wishing you two all the best in your new adventure together out west.
