Elegant Portsmouth Wedding: James & Rebecca

Rebecca & James chose to wed in Portsmouth and also chose to wed on November 1st, 2014 for a couple different reasons. First, they love the charm of Portsmouth and the character of the restaurant Mombo, and then they chose their date because that was the day that they got engaged in 2013! So sweet! Rebecca and James got ready at the Portsmouth Sheraton with friends and family and had a sweet first look moment right in front of the Sheraton’s grand windows. We then hopped into my car to take some portraits on the historic streets of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. These to were so great as a faint rain tried to alter our plans. These two rolled with it, and then opted to do family and bridal party photos back inside the Sheraton so they could escape the November chill for a bit. Next it was time to head to the classic old North Church of Portsmouth right in the center of downtown Portsmouth. What a beautiful church, and they had such lovely ceremony! After their “I Do’s” Rebecca and James headed out of the church, and realized they had some extra time before their reception. So they grabbed their maid of honor and best man and headed to RiRa’s, a pub right across the street from the church for a quick drink! How cool is that?! To be so spontaneous on your wedding day, and just take a few moments for themselves. We loved it and rolled with it. After their special little drink we did a quick dusk portrait by the water and then it was time to head to Mombo, an amazingly yummy restaurant that was hosting their wedding reception. It is quaint, cozy, and full of so much charm with their wood beam ceilings! As it was getting chillier and raining harder outside, everyone was jolly and warm inside with friends and family. Wonderful toasts were given, dances were danced, and most important to Rebecca and James was spending time with every person that came for their special day. Congrats you two, what an awesome and unique day, we loved it!
